VAE RDP Manufacturing Process

Redispersible Polymer Powder (VAE RDP) is produced through a controlled process starting with emulsion polymerization of monomers such as vinyl acetate, ethylene, or acrylates, stabilized with emulsifiers and protective colloids like polyvinyl alcohol. The resulting aqueous polymer dispersion is then transformed into a free-flowing powder by spray drying, where hot air rapidly removes water and the protective colloid prevents the particles from sticking together. The dried polymer is subsequently collected, cooled, sieved, and packaged in moisture-resistant bags to preserve its stability. When re-mixed with water, RDP redisperse into their original emulsion, delivering adhesion, flexibility, and enhanced performance in dry-mix mortars, adhesives, and plasters.

VAE RDP Properties

RDP can redisperse in water to form a stable polymer emulsion, regaining the properties of the original latex.
