What is the HEMC?

HEMC stands for Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose, and MHEC stands for Methyl Hydroxyethyl Cellulose.
In practice, HEMC and MHEC refer to the same product — the name order simply differs depending on the manufacturer or regional naming preference.
Both are non-ionic, water-soluble cellulose ethers derived from natural cellulose through chemical modification.
